Our Approach.

Treatment Orientation.
The following treatments are utilized based on each client’s individual goals and treatment plan.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): Developing healthy thought patterns to improve emotions and behaviors.
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT): Balancing and coping with intense emotions.
Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR): Enhancing awareness, acceptance, compassion, and mind-body connection to relieve stress.
Psychodynamic Therapy: Focusing on increasing self-awareness and enhance the individual’s ability to apply this awareness to daily life.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT): Focusing on reducing experiential avoidance and accepting internal experiences (thoughts and feelings) in the service of living a valued, vital, and meaningful life. Mindfulness, metaphors, and experiential exercises play a central role in ACT.
Interpersonal Psychotherapy: Improving the quality of an individual’s interpersonal relationships and social functioning to help reduce their distress.
Multicultural Therapy: Addressing the concerns of those whose race, ethnicity, gender identification, income, disability, or other social factor falls outside of the majority. Including oppression, racism, and marginalization.

SPECIALTY.
Dr. Nazari is a dually licensed clinical psychologist with over 13 years of experience specializing in helping adults, young adults, and couples. She has extensive training in the treatment of anxiety, depression, life-transitions, adjustment difficulties, body image issues, self-esteem building, racial & cultural identity, academic & work challenges, trauma, family of origin issues, and stress management.
Dr. Nazari is passionate about the intersection of mental and reproductive health. She specializes in reproductive psychology, with an emphasis on the use of Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART). Dr. Nazari is a professional member of American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM).
Aside from being dually licensed, Dr. Nazari is a member of the Psychology Inter-jurisdictional Compact (PSYPACT), which allows her to practice in 39+ additional states.

Dr. Nazari utilizes a multidisciplinary approach integrating psychodynamic, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and interpersonal therapy.
EDUCATION.
She was raised in Atlanta, Georgia where she earned a bachelor of science degree in psychology and bachelor of arts degree in sociology from the University of Georgia, in 2008. She went on to obtain a master’s degree in mental health counseling from Georgia State University, in 2011. After teaching psychology courses and conducting psychological assessments in Atlanta, she moved to San Diego where she completed her doctoral degree in clinical psychology at the California School of Professional Psychology (CSPP), an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited program renowned for clinical training.
TRAINING & EXPERIENCE.
Dr. Nazari has completed specialized training in a variety of clinical settings, including, but not limited to: The University of San Diego Counseling Center; San Diego State University Counseling Center; University of North Carolina-Charlotte Counseling and Psychological Services; Community Mental Health clinics; Intensive Outpatient Hospital settings; and Private Practice settings; Post-Graduate Course on Introduction to Reproductive Psychology by Julie Bindeman, Psy-D.
ACADEMIC & RESEARCH CAREER.
Dr. Nazari’s dissertation research focuses on the intersection of implicit bias and therapist competency. Her research highlighted the role bias plays in selecting a provider, most specifically when selecting a therapist.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Nazari was an assistant professor at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology where she taught doctoral level psychology classes for the Applied Clinical Psychology program. She is also currently an adjunct instructor at National University and Chattahoochee Technical College, teaching a variety of psychology courses.
Mallory Almengual, M.S.

Mallory specializes in providing psychotherapy and psychological assessment services to college students, young adults, and adults facing a variety of life challenges. She has extensive training in the diagnosis and treatment of anxiety disorders, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). She is also passionate about supporting folx holding LGBTQ+ identities, as well as individuals experiencing family of origin issues. Mallory provides individual and group counseling services, as well as psychological evaluations and diagnostic services for ADHD, learning disorders, and other social/emotional issues.
TREATMENT ORIENTATION.
Mallory utilizes a multidisciplinary approach drawing from body-centered, biopsychosocial, multicultural feminist, cognitive-behavioral (CBT), dialectical-behavioral (DBT), existential, and mindfulness-based traditions. Mallory works collaboratively with her clients to create a safe and supportive therapeutic environment that fosters self-exploration and healing. Her holistic approach to mental health integrates the mind, body, and spirit.
EDUCATION.
Mallory earned her bachelor of science degree in psychology from the University of Florida in 2015. She obtained her master of science degree in Counseling Psychology from Colorado State University in 2020, an American Psychological Associated (APA) accredited program known for its rigorous clinical training. Mallory moved to San Diego and joined Palm View Psychology in 2022.
TRAINING & EXPERIENCE.
Since beginning clinical practica in 2016, Mallory has completed specialized training in a variety of settings, including but not limited to: The University of Florida Counseling and Wellness Center; Colorado State University Health Network Counseling Services; State of Colorado Division of Youth Corrections; Psychological Services Center (community mental health); and Loveland Youth Gardeners (horticultural therapy). Mallory is registered yoga teacher (RYT 200: 171446) and is certified in Trauma Recovery Yoga. Mallory has facilitated therapy groups focused on coping with ADHD, LGBTQ+ empowerment, therapeutic horticulture for anxiety and depression, trauma-informed yoga, mindfulness practices for stress, substance use recovery, and general interpersonal process/support. She has led workshops on somatic and contemplative psychotherapy, wellness strategies through the body, holistic and alternative approaches to healing, and distress tolerance for emotional activation. Mallory and her rescue dog, Honey, were a certified Animal Assisted Therapy team in Colorado.
Venus Perez, M.A.

SPECIALTY.
Venus offers psychotherapy services in English and Spanish to individuals from adverse communities with problematic substance use, addiction, anxiety, depression, PTSD, SI/SA, and self-esteem challenges. Venus has experience facilitating inpatient and outpatient groups for individuals with severe mental illness and addiction and works with individuals experiencing symptoms of schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders, as well as personality disorders.

Venus earned a bachelor of arts degree in psychology, along with a dual minor in education and special education from San Francisco State University in 2020. She obtained her master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology (CSPP) in May 2022, an accredited American Psychological Associated (APA) program. Currently, Venus is a third-year Ph.D. student at CSPP.
TRAINING & EXPERIENCE.
Venus has received training and gained experience through a wide range of communities and populations. Her clinical expertise developed from working and volunteering at rehabilitation centers, homeless shelters, daycares, and inpatient and outpatient services. She has worked at Paradise Valley Hospital, Bayview Behavioral Health Hospital, Southern California Recovery Center, Rams Youth Higher Ability, A friendly Manor, and Mima’s Daycare and Learning Center. The wide range of mental health services allowed her to work with diverse individuals at risk of trauma, relapse, suicidal ideation/intent, and self-harm. Venus is currently working at Paradise Valley Hospital and Bayview Behavioral Health Hospital under the supervision of a licensed clinical psychologist. Her clinical training and experiences have allowed her to become an empathetic, motivated, and passionate psychologist in training with experience in developing new behavioral plans and strategies and organizing/facilitating effective social skills groups. She implements group facilitation and group processes, provides inpatient and outpatient therapy to individuals struggling with severe and comorbid mental disorders, and helps individuals with comorbid disorders, psychosis, suicidality, and physical issues process experiences and develop coping resources. Venus has developed excellent communication and observation skills and a significant ability to perform well in a team.
Julie Beshears, M.A.

SPECIALTY.
Julie has experience with anxiety, depression, PTSD, and substance use disorders. She has experience and much passion for working with sexual and gender minority communities (LGBTQ+ and CNM/ENM) and the incarcerated/ previously incarcerated population.

Julie has a multidisciplinary approach, integrating tools from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Psychodynamic Therapy.
EDUCATION.
Julie received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice from the University of Southern Indiana (USI) in 2021. She obtained her Masters of Arts in Clinical Psychology from the
California School of Professional Psychology (CSPP) in June of 2023, an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited program. She is currently in the third year in CSPP’s Clinical Psychology Ph.D. Program.
TRAINING & EXPERIENCE.
Julie has received clinical training in group and individual therapy, crisis intervention, treatment
planning, and diagnostic assessment at Alvarado Parkway Institute’s Inpatient hospital and Intensive Outpatient Programs and completed her first practica with the California Department of Corrections and
Rehabilitation as a part of the mental program at a California State Prison.
Julie is also an experienced researcher with studies in Sexual Minority populations (LGBTQ+ and CNM), police and community relationships, access to services for victims of human trafficking and IPV, and Clinical research best practices.
Registered Psychological Associate
This is a term designated for clinicians advanced in their clinical training, but are not yet licensed and able to provide services independently. They are working towards their final requirements for licensure, are directly supervised by Dr. Nazari and are employees of her independent practice. They have been thoroughly screened and registered through the California Board of Psychology for this position.
Services & Fees
Intake Assessment:
Treatment begins with completing an initial diagnostic evaluation. The intake assessment process typically takes between one to two visits (each 45 minutes).
Individual Therapy:
Individual therapy sessions last 45 minutes. We may meet weekly in the beginning of therapy and reduce how often we meet over time as you progress in treatment.
Fee for services:
Payment is expected at the time of service. We only accept online payments - all major credit cards are accepted.
If you are seeking a good faith estimate, please notify your provider immediately and one will be discussed and provided during your next session.
Insurance:
If you are wanting to use insurance and are a California or Georgia resident, we are an in network provider with Aetna and Optum (United Health Care, Oscar, and Oxford) plans through Alma and Headway!
If your insurance is not listed above, you can still use insurance as "out of network"; please read below.
For all others, we do not accept insurance directly, however, we are considered an out-of-network provider. Should you choose to utilize your insurance benefits, we will provide you with a monthly statement or "superbill" that you can submit to your insurance company for potential out-of-network reimbursement.
We encourage you to check with your insurance company regarding the reimbursement rate, prior to making an appointment, as it varies for each provider and policy. Feel free to contact us with questions regarding insurance and fees.
Note: Many PPO plans have their own coverage rates; we recommend you call your insurance company directly and ask about their policy on out-of-network benefits for behavioral health care. Please understand that payment for each session will be collected at the time of service.
Sliding Scale & Reduced Fees:
We hold a limited number of slots open for clients requiring financial assistance. Please inquire directly with us regarding the sliding scale program.
Reduced fees are not guaranteed; they are based on availability, and subject to change at any time.
Cancellation & No-Show Policy:
If you need to cancel a session, please contact us at least 24 hours in advance to avoid a fee. If you do not show for your scheduled appointment, and have not notified us at least 24-hours in advance, you will be required to pay a fee.
Scheduling:
After initial contact is made, you will be scheduled for an initial appointment. Future appointments can be requested at the conclusion of your session.
